One of my long standing aspirations (other than losing weight) is to be a writer. A novelist even. Writing poems in for the school or Rotary newsletter apparently don’t count. My husband had introduced me to an amazing book on writing called “On Writing” – by Stephen King. And for several years now I have been trying to follow the successful Mr.King’s advise: An aspiring writer needs to basically start doing one thing. Write.

Recently, I consulted a Tarot reader for the first time in my life. It was more an exercise in entertainment rather than enlightenment. The Tarot reader was awesome. And I loved his answers to most of our questions (it was a couple thing :-)). But there were two answers that I found disturbing. One of those answers was to my question of “WIll I ever realise my dream of becoming a writer?”. He said I should retain my hope writing as my motivating dream but not really expect anything to come out of it. (I think he meant don’t give up your day job in the hopes of raking in the moolah as a novelist). He’s probably right. But I ‘ll be damned if I listened to him and did not try.

I’ve created a couple of blog spaces before but never made the effort to write regularly. I am hoping that thanks to Mr.Tarot,  I will atleast not be found wanting for effort.

Bottomline for those who chance by this blog. Keep coming back and checking on me. I should have some stories, poems or snippets up here soon. If not, do me a favour and leave me a comment like “what the heck’…
